at first i didn't know that I had NF but i soon found out that it doesn't mean you can't do the things normal kids can do, anyway i have three good friends who will not run from me even when i thought they would run when i told them i have NF they understood me and just stayed there by my side and at that point I knew i was special I knew i could do great things one day maybe even write a book like my mom
I know I'm special and i will never give up hope because I;m surrounded by people that love me recently my sister Rachel got a chance to be a make a wish kid and now we are going to Disney world on march22

ReplyDeleteyou guys are awesome
ReplyDeleteI love this! I wish so much I had the strength and courage to speak up about NF when I was your age. I was in the early 20's when I actually was able to have a discussion about it. Even going to the Neurodoc made me so nervous and upset I couldn't even talk about my own condition. But it's people like you, your awesome mom and so many other NF friends I've made over the past few years that have made me feel so much better about myself, and I am so grateful for it. Stay awesome!
ReplyDeleteHi Bailey - I'm glad I found your blog. My daughter, who's 10, has NF1. Like you, she has a sister who doesn't have it.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to let you know about National Doodle Day, which is coming up in May. Celebrities doodle and then they're auctioned off on eBay to raise funds for NF research. I live in Texas and I'm trying to get some local music and film celebrities to donate doodles for the cause.
You can find out more about it here: http://www.doodledayusa.org and maybe spread the word (on your blog and elsewhere) so that your friends and family can bid on doodles or ask their friends to do so, and help raise money for research.
Hope you're doing well!
Take care,
C.
